Malik Riaz, the Chairman and founder of Asia’s top class housing society, Bahria town, has made some big contributions to the fund to help and support the construction of Diamer-Basha and Mohmand Dams. As per the statement issued by the company in the same regards, Malik Riaz Hussain has made a contribution of Rs 42.6 million for the fundraiser program conducted by the respective government authorities.
The statement further adds “Malik Riaz and Bahria town would keep on making the best of their efforts to push the overall development of the country whilst meeting with their energy demands”. As per the mentions in the website of the supreme court of Pakistan, the fund has so far received a huge sum of Rs 382.20 million from the general public of Pakistan to support the construction of the dams which would cater to the energy demands of the public whilst coming as the big reservoirs of water.
On the other side, even the armed forces of Pakistan have pledged their support for the same fund, as been mentioned in a tweet by the Director General of Inter-Service Public Relations chief, Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor.“The officers of army, navy and air force will contribute their two days’ pay, while soldiers will be donating one day’s pay to the announced fund for this national cause,” he quoted saying.
Moreover, people and professionals from every section and every walk of life have also come forward to announce their contribution to the fund to cater to the current energy and water crisis in the country. Whilst this can be quoted as a laudable step, the energy crisis is been considered as threatening in the country by many experts.
The first and foremost contribution has been made by the honorable Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mian Saqib Nisar, who donated a big sum of Rs 1 million from his own pocket and led by an example for all the rest of the countrymen.
